Nankang Geo-Trac specifications indicate tire size, durability, manufacturer and performance.

Common tire specifications include tire construction type, sidewall appearance, size aspect ratios, manufacturer's part number, uniform tire quality grading and speed index. Nankang advertises that their Geo-Trac tire is designed for all-season use.

This fact provides clues about other specifications of the tire, specifically the traction grade. While the Geo-Trac is not manufactured for optimum racing performance, this tire can be counted on to perform well in inclement weather and it has a long tread life.

Sidewall

According to tire-easy.com, Nankang Geo-Trac tire sidewall appearances vary according to tire size. Specifications may appear as raised outlined white letters (ROWL), or outlined white letters (OWL). According to Coast Tire and Auto Service, sidewall lettering indicates the tire manufacturer, type of construction and brand name.

For example, tire-easy.com's Nankang Geo-Trac's images show tires with aspect ratios of 235/65 and 235/75. The first number, 235, represents the width of the tire in millimeters and the second set of numbers represent the height. Aspect ratios are common sidewall indicators. "R," for "radial," refers to construction type. Geo-Trac, of course, is the brand name.

Speed Index

The Nankang Geo-Trac tires presented by tires-easy.com both show "S" classification speed indexes. "S" classification means that these tires' speed capacities may reach up to 180 kilometers per hour, km/h, or 112 miles per hour.

According to Coast Tire and Auto Service, Nankang Geo-Trac tires are designed for vehicles with these manufacturer tire specifications and if placed on a racing vehicle, for example, will not allow for optimal vehicle performance. Race cars may require tires with a "ZR" classification that can rotate at up to and over 300 km/hr.

UTQG

According to tires-easy.com, the Nankang Geo-Trac tire has a uniform tire quality grade, UTQG, of 500-A-B. National Tire and Battery explains that "500" represents the treadwear grade. If a Nankang consumer had the choice of buying a Geo-Trac with a grade of 500 and another tire with a grade of 200, he or she should understand that the Geo-Trac's grade ensures a longer tread life. "A" represents the Geo-Trac's traction grade.

On a rating scale of AA-A-B-C with AA representing the best tire traction available, the Geo-Trac has shown excellent stopping performance on wet pavement. This traction grade is necessary for the Geo-Trac to qualify as an all-season tire. "B" is the Geo-Trac's temperature grade. On a scale of A-B-C, the Geo-Trac can provide moderate resistance to heat deterioration.
